The Southwest of Paraná under the View of Regional Analysis Indicators

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the location of the economic sectors and the specialization ofthe productive structure from southwestern of Paraná municipalities in 2007 and 2017.So, it was used the RAIS/CAGED employment data applied to estimate regional analysis indicators. In 2007, it was verified that the sectors of agriculture, vegetal extraction, huntingand fishing, and public administration presented specialization in most of the municipalities. In contrast, the services sector was concentrated, especially in Pato Branco and Francisco Beltrão. In 2017, the specialization of the manufacturing and services industry expanded to more municipalities. However, as in 2007, agriculture, logging, hunting and fishing, and public administration have specialization in most municipalities. Regarding the restructuring  of economic activities, it can be seen that Industrial Services of Public Utility, Mineral Extraction and Civil Construction presented a higher Coefficient of Restructuring. However, these sectors combined represented for less than 5% of total employment in 2017. Thus, the results indicate a tiny restructuring.
