A BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS OF RURAL WOMEN'S PROGRESS IN THE AMAZON, WITH A FOCUS ON PARÁ

Authors

Abstract

The contribution of rural women workers in the Amazon is vital for the development of their communities, encompassing agricultural activities to handicraft production, which are essential for family income and local economic growth. However, these contributions often remain invisible and undervalued due to gender inequalities and lack of recognition. Therefore, the aim of this study was to conduct a bibliometric review to understand the role of rural women workers in the Amazon, with a focus on the state of Pará, showcasing their impact on regional economic and social development, including their enterprises, technical assistance, and empowerment. Using the CAPES Periodicals database, studies addressing the role of rural women workers were selected, highlighting their involvement in agricultural enterprises, technical assistance, and governmental support received. The results emphasize the importance of women in the economy and social development of rural communities, demonstrating their resilience and ability to promote positive changes even in the face of challenges. It is concluded that women's empowerment is essential to drive socio-economic development.
