Automobile industry, labor and migrant capital in new Brazilian productive regions

Abstract

The text analyzes capital and labor dynamics in automotive industry through the relocation of assemblers within Brazilian territory, occurring since the 1990s. The production reorganization and increase in vehicle sales characterize the international juncture, in which this industry carries out investments according to the latest globalization framework. This process marks the insertion of Brazil among the emerging countries of contemporary capitalism. The discussion regarding the geographical concentration/deconcentration is based on pertinent statistics and literature. It considers the effects of the recent global crisis on economic expansion.
