Abstract

This paper analyzes the small-to-medium size company configurations and behavior, as well as their interrelations with support institutions within the productive arrangement of the
lumber industry in the Iguaçu Valley (SC/PR). It also analyses their directed efforts to gain a dynamic competitive edge through developing an innovative capacity in order to create idiosyncratic promotion policies for the development of innovative processes at  local level.
