Abstract

This study addresses the differences and determinants of productivity of land and labor inthe agriculture in Paraná’s meso-regions, based on the agriculture census data from 1995/96 and 2006. Productivity indicators and statistical techniques were used to demonstrate the existence of disparities. The data indicate an increase of the differences in productivity ofthe meso-regions and state. Regional disparities show a trajectory that may be occurring inthe state because of the knowledge and diffusion of more efficient production techniques between regions. It was observed that, investments, raw materials, machinery, technicalassistance, energy and explored areas, brought positive impacts on production in the stateand its regions.
